HOP Faculty Invited to Present at the American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting

Healther-Morris-HeadshotHeather Morris, Ph.D., assistant research scientist in the Department of Health Outcomes & Policy, has been invited to give an oral presentation, entitled “Development and Validation of an Instrument to Measure Collaborative Goal Setting in the Care of the Patients with Diabetes,” at the American Public Health Association’s annual meeting. The conference will be held in Chicago from October 31 through November 4.

Morris’ presentation will evaluate the use of a system she and colleagues developed to analyze collaborative goal setting from the patient’s perspective. Their evaluation of the system, Patient Measure of Collaborative Goal Setting (PM-CGS), concluded that it was a valid measure.

“It is an honor to have the opportunity to present my findings at APHA,” said Morris. “Using the Patient Measure of Collaborative Goal Setting can help illustrate actionable deficits in goal setting discussions.”
